About Me

THE MINORCAN WAY

Solano family came over to the new world from Spain and the Island of Minorca in  the late 1500's. They brought with them cast nets for fishing the coastlines.

In this picture, 2010, I am casting the net off the back waters of Cedar Key in hopes of catching some Mullet to fry. Fish fries were a big part of the Minorcan families and still are today with our family.

My Family

I have been a Rotarion for over 40 years. Giving back to the community is always an important part of our heritage. In this picture, four of my sons, my daughter and daughter in law celebrating at our Rotarion clubhouse in Brandon, fl.

My Journey

My Journey began right here, near Grandma's china berry tree. As a child, there was nothing around us except woods, palmetto scrub and mosquitoes. these things have been replaced by roads, houses and traffic. progress? Which would you prefer? I prefer the woods and mosquitoes!
